Alesha Dixon, cuyo nombre completo es Alesha Anjanette Dixon, nació en Welwyn Garden City (Inglaterra) el 7 de octubre de 1978, de madre inglesa y padre de jamaicano.

En 1999 Alesha, formó parte del Dance Attic (una academia de baile en el oeste de Londres), donde conoció a Sabrina Washington, junto con quien formaría un dúo, llegando a grabar una maqueta titulada "Inspiration", que nunca se editó. A este duo se incorporó Su-Elise Nash, y decidieron formar un trío musical. Pronto fueron contratadas por la discográfica Telstar Records UK a la que se sumó una cuarta integrante, Zena McNally, surgiendo así el popular grupo femenino ingles Mis-Teeq.


Su single debut fue ‘Why?’ en el año 2000. Poco después McNally abandonó el grupo en busca de una carrera en solitario, por lo que Mis-Teeq volvió a ser un trío.

En 2001 salía a la venta su álbum debut, "Lickin’ On Both Sides", que incluía éxitos como "All I Want", "One Night Stand", "Be With Me" y "Roll On/This Is How We Do It".

En el año 2003 Mis-Teeq publicó su segundo álbum, "Eye Candy", incluyendo los singles "Scandalous", "Can’t Get It Back" y "Style". Ese mismo año el grupo se conviertió en la imagen de las tiendas 'JD Sports'.

En el 2004 Mis-Teeq estaba en la cima de su popularidad e incluso había cruzado el charco para hacer una gira por Estados Unidos. Pero justo entonces se produjo la quiebra de Telstar Records UK, por lo que la banda fue despedida. Quedaba en el aire su 'Greatest hits', que finalmente fue publicado en marzo de 2005. Con él se ponía fin a la trayectoria del trío. A partir de ese momento, sus componentes caminarían por libre.

Es en el 2005 en el que Alesha Dixon comienza su carrera en solitario. Ese mismo año firma un contrato con Polydor Records y empieza a preparar su primer álbum, 'Fired up', para cuya grabación recurrió a grandes productores como Brian Higgins, Xenomania o Estelle. Su primer single iba a ser 'Superficial', pero la filtración del corte en internet le llevó a decantarse finalmente por 'Lipstick', que llegó al número 14 en el UK Singles Charts y al el número 40 en Irlanda. Sin embargo, la canción no funcionó demasiado bien. El segundo single en publicarse sería "Knock Down" , llegando a un dicreto puesto 45 en su segunda semana en el UK Singles Charts, cayendo al puesto 68 en su tercera semana. Fue a finales del 2006 en la que Polydor Records decidió presindir de Alesha Dixon.


Pero esta mujer segura de sí misma, inteligente, decidida y llena de estilo, volvió a los estudios de grabación y, con el respaldo de la multinacional Warner, dio forma a 'The boy does nothing', el single con un éxito irresistible y sugerente.

"The boy does nothing'" es el perfecto reclamo para 'The Alesha Show', un disco que llegó al mercado español en el 2008. Un trabajo marcado por una voz única, un retorcido sentido del humor y una risa salvaje. Alesha en estado puro
